QOTD: "Frankly, I don't know what it is about California, but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office. I'm not bragging, you understand, but no other state, including Maine, even comes close. When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we're number one. There's no getting around the fact that the last time anyone saw the likes of Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters, and Nancy Pelosi, they were stirring a cauldron when the curtain went up on 'Macbeth'. The four of them are like jackasses who happen to possess the gift of blab. You don't know if you should condemn them for their stupidity or simply marvel at their ability to form words." -- columnist Burt Prelutsky, LA Times

Wow - quote of the day has some serious meow to it. Wondering if we should initiate a Burt Prelutsky watch?

Does anyone have a link to the (official) statistics given in the 83% of Phoenix..... post?

2006 (First Quarter) INS/ FBI Statistical Report. These statistics have been cited in Congressional testimony. There are plenty of links. Will one from congress.org suffice?

Anyone can write a letter claiming anything and have it show up on congress.org - does that make the claim true.

I asked for links to official statistics - are there any?

How many links would you like? They’re pretty liberal in Canada, so would one from Canada Free Press work for you? If those figures are incorrect, one might expect a liberal news outlet to debunk it. Should I hunt down and link the Congressional testimony? Somehow, I don’t think that would be enough for you. Neither would the 24,000 links I could list here.

These are figures which were extrapolated from raw data and presented to Congress. While you might be inclined to continue to request links, I might also be inclined to ask you to present evidence to the contrary. Of course, you cannot because there is no one magic link. However, you can feel free to be my guest and filter through the data yourself. Considering that this was (a) testimony presented before Congress and (b) uncontested by every media outlet, I am inclined to take it at face value, but you can feel free to point me towards the contrary. While you’re at it, also please feel free to send me the link that shows how tolerance of lawbreaking leads to more lawful behavior.

Goodnight.

One good link would do to support any on the # presented would do.

A site with a Countdown until Obama leaves Office does not seem to fit your description of "liberal".

Should I hunt down and link the Congressional testimony?
That would be nice.

Neither would the 24,000 links I could list here.
24,000 dead ends are not worth very much.

I am inclined to take it at face value, but you can feel free to point me towards the contrary.
Taking anything at face value without supporting evidence is often not the wisest course of action

While you’re at it, also please feel free to send me the link that shows how tolerance of lawbreaking leads to more lawful behavior.
Gee,just because I ask for information supporting the claims, you assume I support unlawful behavior.

I am an avid reader of Doug Ross @ Journal. I actually linked to this post on my blog and facebook. I was questioned on it from someone who wanted backup evidence to pursue some of the issues presented politically. I could not find anything "official" to support even one of the # presented.

I have always assumed that Doug Ross @ Journal was "gospel". With the defensive attitude toward my questions, I am disappointed. The attitude is almost "Obama like".
